Hi, here is my question.

Can you run a fuse spur from a ring main to supply a lighting circuit :?: I would like to put some under cupboard lights in my kitchen but cannot get power from the light, there is a socket in close proximity the i could spur from if it is allowed.

many thanks....... :D

yes you can

use a fused connection unit fitted with a 3A or 5A fuse (depending on the ammount of lighting). You can either use a switched fused connection unit or use an unswitched fused connection unit and seperate switch(es). The latter lets you use several seperate switches if you wan't to but the former is neater (only one plate rather than two) and makes it more obvious that the lights are on the socket ring.

the cable from the ring to the fused connection unit should be 2.5mm. From the fused connection unit to the lights 1.0mm or 1.5mm is fine
