I will try and explain what's happening and maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
We have a mixer valve for the hot water on our bath, below that is a single rotary tap/valve to turn the water on/off, the temperature is regulated by the mixer, above the mixer is another rotary tap/valve that operates the pumped shower, again the temperature is controlled by the mixer.
So I have a lovely hot shower, seems like there's plenty of hot water left, she goes to run a bath and can't get it above tepid even with the mixer turned all the way to the "hot" setting...I am Mr Popular for allegedly using all the hot water!
Weird thing is when we run the basin tap in the same bathroom there is plenty of hot water.
My first thought is the mixer tap is dodgy but then why is the shower ok?
Any thoughts help would be much appreciated.

Is this a fault which has occured or has it been like this since new?

I have a similar tap at home and found that it needed adjusting from new as the thermostatic mixer was not set high enough.

If you take the tempertaure knob off by removing the cap and screw you should see plastic stop which prevent's the splindle turning any further towards the hot position. You should be able to slide it off the spindle and reposition it so that the the tap can turn further towards the hot before it stops on this. I just tok mine completly off and now it will turn a full turn (used to be a quarter turn) so i have better control over it.

What make tap is it?
