I am going to start lining the walls of my garage with 11mm OSB, this partially to cover up the breeze block walls but also to make hanging tools, shelves, etc. a lot easier.

any advice about what size battens to use (thinking 19mm x 38mm) whether battens need to run both vertically and horizontally and what space to put between them.

any other advice from people who may have done this also greatly received i.e. stainless steel nails, waterproof coating on wall before hand, etc.

thanks a lot

You could secure directly to wall unless you need to run power cables behind?
I used plasterboard on one side of the garage and ply on the internal partition wall.[smoother surface and looks better when painted].
Also used the ceiling with ply panels hinged to double my wall space.
see pic.
