Hi y'all i recently rmoved a wall hung bookcase and a sink and vanity in a bedroom. Humourously neither were papered behind when the lining paper was hung. Now i have a patch about 4'x3' in the middle of the wall and a further patch in the corner where the sink was. The paper underneath is very slightly textured so i need to hang a few patchs over the gaps.

Obviously the lining was done years ago so the edges of the patches are rock hard, can i hang patches without removing the whole affected sheets?

Any other great ideas on the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Strip it, wash it, fill it, rub it down, dust it, size it, wait to dry, apply 1400 grade lining paper after pasting and allowing to soak.
