Linseed oil stains on laminate flooring.

While oiling the legs of dining room chairs, I managed to get some oil on the protective felt pads on 'the feet'. The result is that the laminate flooring has been stained and I don't know how to get rid of these marks. I have replaced the felt pads. Advice would be most welcome.

i'm surprised - laminate has a durable clear waterproof coating as the top surface. this should have stopped the oil getting into the "wood" underneath.

it could be that it's just dried on and a little washing up liquid and hot water might just remove it.

if not then i use wood stain (the nearest colour match) and spread it with a pad (cotton wool in piece of cotton sheet) to blend in and over any areas to lessen the visual impact.

i'm not sure why it works (the waterproof coating stated above suggests it shouldn't). it won't eliminate the stain but will lessen the impact by blending in over a greater area.

Ta Jerry M. W-U-L has absolutely no affect so will have a go at the woodstain suggestion.
