From your first post it seemed you were defending the giving of Bribes as that was private money. Irrespective if the money is private - bribery is illegal - they fact its your money doesn't mean you can spend it as you like - could you hire out a contract killer?

So I pointed out why does it being private money make any difference?
It doesn't - the law is clear.

Now if you think I am putting words in your mouth - my point was expanding on yours - where do you draw the line at what is legal or illegal or acceptable.

I don't see you upset that with all this bribery and backhanders going on in the construction industry that its a reflection on the type of people who conduct it as it seems to me there is a strong prevalence they are white males.

I agree somewhat with your first two points, but if I was asked to design and create a Spiv, I would look no further than Trump

Nice one Bodd. I rattle on about the problems ruining modern day life in this country, i.e. the benefits system, drugs, immigrants, audi drivers etc., but council corruption is another major one. Our town and city centres and the built environment in general are so unpleasant nowadays and it's all because of construction company and local council corruption. Our greatest buildings, i.e. those built before WW2, were designed as much for their lasting beauty as for their usefulness. Buildings now are made for maximum profit, maximum ground coverage and minimum spend. No other interest, least of all beauty, matters in the face of this greed. Only local councils can stop this, and they don't. Often because they need the money (to handout benefits to drug taking, audi driving immigrants) and often because a councillor has had a few "free lunches" provided by the local construction PLC.

Beauty matters - an ugly environment breeds ugly people.

Yet the biggest corruption in this country is caused by right wing politics.

People like Trump and Johnson....driven by vested self interest.


You believe in right wing politics yet you can't understand why councils don't have any money.
