Gents,
Looking to support a 3.6m opening that has 3 layers of concrete blocks above it consisting of the following;
First layer has 6 concrete blocks, second Layer has 3 1/2 blocks, third layer has 2 blocks.
The wall is single brick including the concrete blocks and wanted to know if a concrete lintel is advisable??
Your thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

Definitely not a concrete lintel on that span, unless you want to hire a crane or an army of labourers. Use a steel beam, something like a 178 x 102 UB or possibly even a 152 x 89 UB (is this supporting a gable over a garage door?)
