Lock shield valve

Hi all hope everyone well.

Most of the radiators in my house have lost their caps and I just have a couple that I use on all radiator valves.

Also, the inlet side of the radiators varies, some are on left others on the right.

I want to balance my system and my question is: Does it matter which side I allocate to being the LSV or not? Should it be the inlet side or the outlet side, the right or the left?
