Hi guys

I have just papered my first ceiling and was very impressed with my first attempt.

Now it has dried though I have quite a few long bubbles in it (I have looked through the site and it appears I never left the paper to soak long enough).

Has anyone got any suggestions has to how I can get rid of the bubbles.

Cheers Jim

Are you sure its dried out?
My first wallpapering I thought I had bubbles but they went.

If the paper is a heavy weight paper this could take up to 3 days to dry out fully depending on the air temp in the room. some bubbles will pull themselves back in and dry tight. If they have not the only way really is to prick them to let the air out if they are small or cut them with a blade and squirt some border adhesive behind.

I got a syringe with needle from SDM, filled it with glue and injected it into the bumps, then rolled over them with a seam roller. Worked fine. Since my bumps were due to inadequate surface prep, I used neat PVA in the syringe to make sure it stuck. If yours are just due to not enough soaking, you could probably just use ordinary wallpaper paste.

Thanks for the info guys.

I will give it a couple of days to see if they disappear.

Cheers Jim

If the bubbles were long and looked more like creases they are caused by not letting the paper soak for long enough..

DOnt want to sound doom and gloom..but they dont always come out..if you decide you have to repaper then bare it in mind next time..also...was the wall behind silk/gloss/eggshell finish?
