Hi,

I have alot of wind coming through my window, which I can feel even when it's cold especially in windy days. They are about 10 year old and I want to save myself £5k for the time being is there anyway I can solve this problem anything I can apply round my windows to make them stronger so wind doesn't come in?

Thanks.

are you talking between window opener and frame or frame and wall!!!

are they upvc or wood!!!

if the windows are in good nick you can use rubber draught excluder for the wood i would suggest you fully paint the windows first if they havent benn painted recently

on upvc you can get larger rubber gaskets to fill the gaps

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.

It's coming from around the windows small gaps, which when I wake up in the morning my room is freezing especially in the winter. I do have double glazing windows and I can't sense any air coming through the windows but only the window opening part.

I don't know how to fix it rather than buying a complete set of new windows for the whole house!

Thanks.

just go to your local d/glazing company tell them how many opneners on the windows and doors you have and ask how much to replace the rubber gasgets and hinge mechanisms as nessesery
probably as a guess between 1 and 3 hundred pounds

you can as a cheaper temporary solution [2 - 4 years]add draught excluder to the window frame one roll will do 2 doors and up to 6 openers dependant on size

thats assuming its between openers and frames
