Low level lights?

Just installed low voltage lights in one of the bed rooms, is it safe to let the transformers rest on the insalation which is a type of wool material or do I need to screw them to the joist?

Think I would opt for the safety of the joist myself, though insulation could be flameproof.

How hot does the tranny get????
