That looks quite like the guards Makita use on some of their saws. If so, you need to pivot the blade guard round anti clockwise and over the upper guard, revealing the black plate. By jiggling round a bit, the black plate can be pivoted clockwise to where the securing screw (visible on the upper guard) can be used to secure it. It always seems to require 3 hands
