Just moved into new house and having problem with boiler.
When switched to hot water the hot water light is always on even when no hot tap is open.
also temperature lights are always on.
when open hot tap boiler fires up and water is hot ok.
When close hot tap boiler flame goes off but hot water light stays on.
also
same with hot water when switched to heating and water
but
heating not working.
I have just represserised system.
I also tried reset.

Any ideas ?

Boiler just has MAIN COMBI 30 HE.
don't know how to find out make but
has baxi potterton on label

Have uploaded some photos this morning.
Am I right in assuming that the hot water light should only come on when hot tap is open.
also
Should the temperature lights also go off when hot tap shut.

Might be another silly question but
should the pump be on when hot water only selected and no hot tap open.
as when I feel pump it is vibrating.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure how to add new info.
So will type here.
Sorry for annoying some people.
but
help is really appreciated.

Noticed pressure valve was weeping.
Undone screw to micro switch and wiped switch and it came off (see photo)
had to turn water off to boiler.
Think I will have to replace pressure differential valve and diverter valve assembly.
Looked on internet for part 3-Way Valve Assy. part number 248061.
Price range from £100 to £250.

Think I will have to call an engineer as it looks like I am doing more damage than good and now have no heating or hot water.

Not good with a 5 week old baby in the house.

Once again thanks for comments.

Will let people know the outcome.

How about some more information like make of boiler, 30he could be anything also some manners wouldn't go amiss either

Try adding new info/questions in a new post (on same thread), keep editing 1st post means we have to re-read time and again!

The light staying on is usually due to either the microswitch or the pushrod that operates it sticking. This will also keep the pump running and temp lights on

I would be looking for a leak on your hot water pipework or a sticking hot water micro switch.

If you don't run a hot tap for 10 mins is the hot outlet pipe from the boiler still hot?

If you turn your cold main off, does your heating then fire up?
