I'm installing a replacement fan in a bathroom. It's a Marley NDX100T Timer Fan. There are three wires entering the fan (yellow, red and blue). Blue is neutral and the others are both live (from the light switch). If I have the two lives one way round the fan goes off at the same time as the light (i.e. the timer does not engage). If I swap them over the fan does not go of at all. Can anybody offer a solution??

one isn't live ever. Have you really tested them to prove your theory works (ie. there is 230v on both at certain times)?

wire it the second way.. where it doesn't go off with the light..
and turn the timer down or be more patient.. they can be set up to 15 mins or more depending on the model..

Do as Coljack advizes.

The usual connections are.

Red ; terminal L

Yellow : teminal S/L

Blue : terminal N

..But if in doubt follow the manufacturers instructions after positively identifying the wiring set up .
