I have just had a megaflow installed to my oil boiler. Since the connection the boiler runs in short bursts of around 30seconds then knocks off then bursts again rather than a continuous on/off.

Is this correct ???

Hetradia Sadia said it is due to Chronomatic control ???

Some feedback would be good please.

No.

Most oil boilers will run for a while until they heat their heat exchanger up maybe 5-10 minutes from cold. Once they reach temperature they
will continue as the hot tank drags out the heat from the boiler.
The coil inside the cylinder is probably around 20kw so it should drag
lots of heat from the boiler keeping it going.
The boiler should cycle maybe up to about 5 times in 30 minutes and the tank
should then have reached temperature and the boiler should then cut off.
The tank will remain hot with good insulation so if no hot water is used
the boiler shouldn't come on again for hours. (assuming no central heating is in operation)

Anything else is wrong. Never heard of chronomatic control.

Thanks for that,

The boiler will shut off if only heating hot water, its the heating that seems to cause this intermittent issue ???
