Hi all. I want to cross-batten the loft space in my 1930s house before insulating and boarding. Headroom is not an issue - there is at least 3m in the main part.

Sounds silly but how do I join the timbers when I cross-batten? Toe nail? Angle bracket? Truss clip? Up-side-down joist hanger? Any of the above but doesn't really matter?

Thanks!

Toe nail toe screw, truss clip angle repair plates, etc (but not inverted joist hangers, I'd say)
