Do you have to install 25mm tails if upgrading a CU? Can the existing 16mm be used? The main fuse is 60A so surely 16mm is sufficient. Its just i am changing one tomorrow and are planning on using it for my NIC assessment and want it to be right in there their eyes

16mm² is fine for 60A, but are you positive that there is a 60A fuse in the carrier? Th label is not always correct so it's usually a good idea to fit 25mm² tails anyway.

If it's for an assesment, use 25mm to avoid arguments.

I believe it's the DNO's that now insist on it, but someone will know for sure.

Dont wanna hi-jack your post but I've got the same situation. I've changed my CU for an assessment & there is a 100A main fuse with 16mm tails.

I suggest you upgrade them then!
