Microbore pipe length to mixer taps

Hi all,

I'm going to replace a bathroom sink soon, and install a mixer tap that has either 8 or 10mm pipe stub inlets to connect to (I forgot to measure them).

The pedestal is narrow, so I would like to run 8/10mm microbore pipe up it and join to the sink with straight connectors, rather than the 15mm pipes from the mains and combi with a reducer.

Are there any unwritten rules about the length of microbore pipe that can run to a sink? And can I take a T directly from the regular 15mm pipes (I've seen a 15mm/15mm/10mm T in B&Q), or would this have any bad effects on the water flow. The water pressure seems fine.

as long as its only the lengh (hight) of the pedestal and you have a combi its ok
