Mid-position Vales

AND your question is :?:

Hi Terry,

The fact is, that I have aquired a central heating system which needed the Hot water to be switched off to allow the heating to come on.

I aquired a guide wiring diagram based on a Drayton MAI/679-3, but my system has a Honeywell V4073A.

Therefor, having checked the wiring on my system based on the Drayton diagram, I would like find out if the Honeywell uses not only the same number of coloured cables, but has exactly the same concept as the Drayton.
If so, it will give me the chance to test the system and confirm if it is the valve at fault.

Regards OS

Data on the V4073 is here:

and here is a wiring diagram of a Y plan:

Hope that helps

Thank you D_Hailsham, very mutch for your support and the attached drawing. :D

Yes you have confirmed that both systems are wired the same way.

Therefor I will be more than confident to analyse what the actual problem is.

Many thanks OS

Are you sure you do not have an old diverter valve fitted? These were designed to give heating or hw but not both.
