I have a Mira 415 shower, the mixer block was replaced march 2009. When teh shower is off I get a random 'tapping' noise from inside the shower. there is no leaks. When I turn the water off at the stop cock or turn another hot tap on the sounds stops.

It could be a leak somewhere, dripping maybe on to wood.
the other thing this could be if the pipes to the shower has been put through a stud in your wall and they didnt leave expansion room for the pipe so the pipe cant move it will make a tapping noice
