Just moved to new house and there’s a Mira ‘crescent’ shower. Day 1 I turned the flow handle to tighten it as it was dripping slightly and it then went very loose and wouldn’t turn on again. Have taken it apart and tightened up the flow spindle hex screw and it seems nice and tight but when I re-attach the handle and rotate it too far round it just becomes loose again and you lose control of the flow entirely. The spindle seems fine I can’t see any obvious damage but I have seen a replacement on shower spares website but before I try it would anyone have any suggestions? The temp handle seems fine.
Incidentally once the spindle has been tightened you can still rotate it even without the handle, so we’ve been getting by but obviously with the handle it creates more torque and seems to loosen straight away.
Any ideas much appreciated! I’m a complete novice by the way.
