Thanks for that, yes there is writing on the black terminal block but none of it resembles COM,L1 or L2 unfortunately
 
Lol, problem solved, was looking passed it as it's embossed on the end where the cables are inserted and you were right common is the centre terminal, thanks again

If you think about how a two-way switch works, it's generally a fair chance that 'common' will be in the middle.

Indeed so - but that's one of those apparently logical 'assumptions' which can jump up and shoot one in the back. I've certainly been caught out by such things. Never assume :)

Them pesky single pole rocker switches with indicators, never know what terminals neutral, is there a standard anyone know, i have noticed the terms are spaced oddly is that a clue.
