I'm ordering up some grid bits for my first grid-related DIY! I've hit a snag... For a 2-gang plate, the mounting screws are top and bottom rather than left and right:
Now, that wouldn't normally be a problem, except I was planning to use a white plastic surface-mount conduit box, and want the conduit coming out the top. If I rotate the box, the screw mountings will be right where I want my conduit coming out (the top).
But then I looked at the mounting frame:

Those two extra holes (top and bottom), are they tapped for screws, or are they just so you can slide screws through to fix into a box behind?
I'm thinking I might be able to mount the frame on a "normally"-oriented box, then screw the faceplate onto the frame. Does anyone know if these are designed for that?
