Hi All,

Above the cooker is a moffat extractor fan which works fine. Inside the extractor fan I've got two edison? screw bulbs which are supposed to light up the cooker surface. They are not working. I did replace the bulbs (the previous ones had blown and I guess the people I bought hte house from didn't want to replace them). but still no lighting :(

Any suggestions as to what I can check?

Many Thanks.

First of all I'd check that the bulbs are screwed in tightly and the contacts at the base of the lamp holders aren't greased up. If that fails you really need testing equipment to follow the wiring through to locate the fault and test the switch. I'm assuming that the "fan" works, so the fuse for the hood's supply must be OK.

You would probably be better asking the mods to move your post to he "Appliances" section of the forum, as the guys who fix this sort of a thing on a daily basis and may have come across this before are more likely to see it there.
