Hi,
I have a victorian property with lime mortar. At some point in the 80's it had an extension added ( not in possession then). The extension mortar has a weird colour and composition and has clearly failed. It's a Sharp sand mix that is grey and possibly lime not sure. It looks awful and letting the rest of house down. It has had several repair attempts over the years with cement.
So rake out and repoint needed.
What do you reckon?
