Mount Eufy doorbell to door frame

I'm sure this has been asked a few times but wanted to confirm things in my own mind before proceeding.

I have recently bought a Eufy battery doorbell to mount on my front door, the existing bell is stuck on with tape.

Would it be safe to drill in to what appears to be a dividing strip between the door & window. I also have a transformer to provide power, for the doorbell as there are no existing cables in place. I would like to keep the cable hidden so would like to drill straight through if possible.

The easy solution is to install a good quality wireless doorbell. The actual bell unit can be battery or plug in mains powered. Friedland are a quality item.

Yes it's only a cloaking strip covering the join between the door and window

Got the doorbell sorted now, thanks. A lot easier than I thought it would be.
