Hi all

Sorry if I have the terminology wrong.

Have a 60s bungalow with heavy concrete tile roof and was in the eaves yesterday when I noticed some movement of the layer of bricks the roof base plate goes on to. Bit concerned about it.

Would strapping the plate to the joists be a solution? What's the best way to deal with this.

Hope the picture makes it clear.

Thanks

That slight gap between the wall plate and mortar is normal and would have happened when the roof was constructed.

I can only see typical 60's brickwork, but no movement .

Thanks all

Can't remember ever seeing the gap before but for those asking it is under the top layer of bricks.
