Hi guys.
I would like to fit a bigger loft hatch however a binder with a purlin strut/support is in the way of where the opening would be.
There is a strut going straight down vertically from the purlin, resting on a load bearing wall (directly above the light switch capping in the attached picture) and a diagonal strut coming from the side of the purlin resting on the load bearing wall between the 2 bedrooms.
Is there anything i can do to move the strut further to the left of the pic?
It would only have to be moved by around 10cm however that is enough to bring it above the none load bearing door opening you can see.
I did consider moving it to the wall you can see to the far left however that wall isnt load bearing it is simply built on the floorboards.
Thanks.
