My washing machine thinks it's a disco!

My Hotpoint aquarius (WF321) thinks it's a disco. All the lights keep flashing and it won't work. The only person who can get it working is my 12-year old daughter, slightly embarrassing though.

Can anyone tell me if the machine is going to die or if there's still hope?

Are you saying every light is flashing on start up. If so c17 cap needs replacing on the pcb.
