i am thinking about two types of walls for something i am building. one uses the new thermal clay brick as a load bearing wall: can be seen here.

the wall will have a 10cm brick with stone facing as the real outer wall, with a layer, say 3cm., of Styrofoam in between.
or, my new idea is to sandwich a massive amount of Styrofoam, say 12cm, between two layers of the 10cm brick. The load would be borne in this case by pillars and beams.
the R values of this much styrofoam is huge. i was looking at this web page:
