New Bath hot tap + Not working

Hi, my husband bought a pair of replacement taps, one cold, one hot. He has fiited the hot tap to the bath but it only runs for about 10 secs then stops. He used the new cold tap on the bathroom sink and that works fine! What's the problem? Any advice is very welcome.

Air lock.

Close all taps and run the hot tap in the kitchen to remove air.

Then check bath tap again.

Thanks, tried running the kitchen tap, which turned to a trickle, still no hot water in bathroom. How long do I run the kitchen tap for?

Get a short length of hose and connect the hot and cold taps together (the spouts). Open the hot tap. Then open the cold tap and send a flow of cold water into the hot water system which should remove the air.
