Use them as one of three or four quotes and go with whoever you feel offers you the best combination of professionalism, backup, quality and service.

Get them round for a quote but leave it at that.

Don't be fooled by the summer cashback deal you're paying for it.

Ignore the "free" first year warranties - all boilers include the first year and several manufacturures include 2,3,4 or 5 year warranties (subject to service record etc)

Ask them what the real make/model of the boiler is (they will often hide the actual make to stop you getting a real price). Often its a rubbish Glowworm.

Friend of mine just had BG quote for an easy boiler swapout. After taking off the materials cost BG were charging over £2000 labour for no more than 3 days work. (Just to replace the wall mounted heat only boiler, plumb in the condensate within a meter of the boiler and powerflush - no other parts to be replaced).

ok well does anyone know a good central heating installer in the kent area?
i live in dartford.

cheers
