the ferroli optimax is available with a five year warranty does anybody have any comments on this boiler or previous dealings with ferroli boilers

Older models seem to have problems, I wouldn't install in my area as they do not have dedicated engineers on call for warranty calls.

Check if they do in your area first.

I installed an OptiMax 31HE worked fine for a year then went into fits. It has been a horrendous ordeal dealing with Ferroli. I would not touch them with a barge pole. Save yourself the hassle - spend a couple hundred more and get a Vaillant.
