And don't use slots they ARE not easier to use in or out it is the opposite.

they're fine if you know what you are doing and slots definately look better than pozi's. On some jobs I've been on the specs have been to remove all visable pozi's and replace with slots so it's not just my opinion.

if you want a good appearance use a plug cutter and a flooring offcut and create dots to mallet in over your matching pre drilled holes then use a sharp chisel to remove the extra on show. .

Done that too, and spent hours on my knees with a chisel and to get it to look really good takes a bit of extra effort, it only takes one to stand out. Personally I'm not a big fan of pelleting , to me it's neither one thing or the other, you don't get invisable fixings but they aren't there as a feature either.
