new laptop

hi all, time is running out im planning to buy a laptop for missus for xmas all she really needs it for is msn, facebook and a few sites probably some photos and music and a built in webcam


anybody reccomend a decent laptop for around £300 to £ 400 thanks PM

The key to looking for a laptop when required for the above tasks is where will it be used.

If its home use then get a 15" IMO, 12" for travel. 10" is just too small for me. £300 will be fine, most spec'd units these days are up to these tasks no problem.

Try looking for something with an INTEL i3 processor, they are dual core but have 4 logical cores.

IMHO AMD are playing catch up to INTEL. The tables will probably turn at some point soon

Don't worry too much about the amount of ram- this is something that you can upgrade at little cost in the future

I recently bought this one in Sainsbury's. http://tinyurl.com/32se9d2 At the time it was reduced to £199. I used what I had on my reward card and I got it for £175. They have it in stock again at £300 but you never know, it might be reduced again after Christmas.
