New light fitting annoyance

breezer, il78 and ban-all-sheds,

thanks guys for all ya help. i manage to sort out that blasted light fitting last night.

the black wire i 1st wired initially was a phoney, i found the right one and every thing is finally sweet.

your forum is great, without it i was going to pay an electrian to sort this mess out for me.
