new lights and switch

hello all, advice needed, i,m i the middle of converting the loft into a bedroom, i have an existing light switch and double socket in the room below and an existing double socket already in the loft(spur)i want to change the switch in the room below into a two way and also want to install up to 4 wall lights in the loft, i have easy access to all the wiring in the loft (existing lighting ring and junction boxes)what,s the best way to go about it, go off an existing jb or break into the circuit and install a new jb. ta.

a) applied for planning permission

b) put in a proper staircase with a fire door at the top

c) ditto a velux with means of emergency escape*

d) Installed mains linked smoke alarms on main & top landings

e) installed proper joists for the loft floor

etc........


* not sure if this is a national requirement or is unique to certain local authorities.
