I am in the process of getting quotes for a new patio and using Indian sandstone paving.
The first guy has suggested digging out all the old concrete and then new patio from scratch with sub base etc.
The second guy has suggested putting new patio down onto existing concrete. This does keep it above DPC but Im wondering if this will have any long term effects on patio durability etc.
