Hello there.
Another plumby question.
We have recently had a new radiator fitted in a newly built room, however the rad is only hot at the top half.
I know that this has nothing to do with bleeding it....i'm not that stupid as the hot is at top and not bottom! but i did read somewhere that this could be due to sludge build up. Does this sound likely? Could it be anything at all to do with balancing the rads?

If it could be sludge, would I need a "Power flush" to sort it or could I drain it myself through the valve at the bottom? is a powerflush expensive?

Cheers all.

Unlikely to be sludge in a new rad if your others are fine, most likely a balancing issue

Unlikely to be sludge if its a new rad, more than likely a balancing issue or airlock, turn the other rads off to see if the new one gets hot

How many more times? It's a new rad with new plumbing, it's not sludge.

Why don't you get the plumber back to install it correctly?

Its ethier balancing or your boiler can't cope.

Try turning off the hot water and turning off all other rads... Does it get fully hot?

new radiator in a new room? 50p says the plumber added 15mm extensions to the existing rad in the nearest room.

try turning all the others off and see if it heats up.
