I recently had a back boiler solid fuel stove installed in my home. Its been tied into my oil heating system to a new twin coil cylinder. Since this new stove has been installed, anytime the heating is on , theres dripping from my overflow pipe. Its only happening when either the stove is lite or the oil is on. If it was constant drip when heating was off, id replace the ball cock but since its only happening when the heating is on, what could this be.

Before the stove was installed, there was no drips from the overflow.

a poor design can cause the pump pressure to push water out of the expansion pipe when on ,easy to check turn it on and have a look

What am i looking for when its turned on. One thing i noticed earlier is the system(pipe beside the cylinders where the pump is) was cooled down but the pump was still running.

If water is coming out the expansion pipe that expels into the tank ,it shouldn't be. As its recent install ,get the installer back to investigate / rectify.

Ive been trying to but he not answering. Lst time i was chatting with him he mentioned its excess heat expanding out the pipe.

Its obvious to me there's something wrong with the way its been installed. I suspect ill get some bullshit that its the systems fault and not his own work that's causing it. If they system was working ok before the stove pipping went in, what could be the causes of this problem to happen.

Have you seen water coming out the expansion pipe and into the tank ?

Doesn't sound like a good setup but out of interest does turning the pump down decrease the flow out of the expansion pipe?
