Hello,
I’m just replacing a mono kitchen tap and the new one has a couple of modernisations that I just want to check out.
Firstly, it comes with flexi tails instead of the old copper ones.
Is it really ok to only hand tighten these to the bottom of the tap? It says no spanners and there’s nothing to grip to anyway.
Secondly, the other end of the tail is a “female” 1/2 in thread with a rubber washer.
Is it ok to use a 15mm compression straight connector to join it to the supply? The inside of the straight connector is not very flat where it sits on the washer and it looks like it could easily mangle the washer - hence my enquiry.
Is there a more appropriate connector I should use?
Many thanks.

Yes , they can be a pain but hand tight is ok , 1/2” straight connection is fine , or use isolation valve is there is not already means to turn off locally .
