Hi there I'm in the process of buying a house which is going to require new windows. This includes actually making the hole in the wall to put the window frame into.
Could anyone advise me on what building regs to follow and what permission, from council etc, I need in order to do this?

cheers.

if you are only going to replace your existing windows you will have to apply to your local planning office for pemision to do so, this cost around £60, this is now the only way you are allowed to make the changes yourself since april 2003. to actualy cut a new window into a wall, new building regs state you must have a builder with a licence to do so. i think you will find this all comes into play big time if or when you go to sell your house again '''
