Nissan Micra central lock would not lock

I am about to give up on my 03reg Micra. The issue is - i can not lock the car with the key or by pressing the buttons on the doors. i ve disconnected the battery for 5 min in hope that this will help, but no the issue is stil there.

Can some one help with some ideas , please?

It's a Micra, no one will nick it

Check the obvious things first........... fuse for starters.
Also check the wiring and linkages behind the drivers door panel
