We will be laying a new patio soon using Marshalls Woodstone paving. These are 50mm thick concrete slabs manufactured to look like timber railway sleepers.

Our thoughts are that they would look best laid without any mortar joints, and the irregularities filled in with sand. Is having no mortar joints likely to lead to any problems further down the line?

Has anyone laid any Marshalls Woodstone before and has any advice in terms of laying it or design?

The biggest problem with sand in the joints is that which you seem to get with all block paving, that of weed growth and moss.

By the way, I think that paving looks great, particularly with that fine gravel finish around the edges. :D
