No sound sky digital

Have a goodmans lcd tv and sky digital box that has decided not to give us sound,controllers work ok but just no sound any of you guys know what it could be

scart lead firmly in mute off volume away from off
turn everything off then on

connect to another telly you know thats working normally

Cheers for the reply big all we have tried different tv and that works so it must be our goodmans LD3270D not working . We are getting no sound at all any ideas or do we need a specialist it's only 2 years old

have you tried a different output
as in if you are using the inbuilt speakers can you connect to the audio output
was the other telly conected in an identical way just to rule out the scart socket for example
have you tried to alter the volume level manually and towards maximum on the hand controlls
