Hi

I have a problem with my boiler. Hot water stopped working one day and then I noticed loud noises from the "pump" which start as if the pump is empty and then becomes a loud wail like a banshee rather than a whale ! Hot water has stopped completely. Central heating was never started and now does not work. As soon as I switch the hot wter on, the noise starts within minutes. Tried bleeding radiators and can hear air hissing out. Tried turning the screw on the pump with no hissing noise or water dripping out.
I had a decorator who removed a radiator few days ago and I suspect has lead to an air leak into the system. He claims it is not his fault. Could it be ?!
Do you think the pump will have to be changed?

Thanks

SOunds like it's the culprit, Changing a rad COULD get air into the system , but there should be provision for bleeding it out. AGAIN we have to ask WHAT THE BOILER IS PLEASE?
It isn't the decorator's fault. It was good of him to do what some refuse to. Even if he did get air in it isn't his fault. If he turned a light on and the bulb blew you wouldn't blame it on him.
