My Mum lives in a terraced cottage and in last couple of months has suffered from loud noises in the pipework (appears to come from the rising main) that are driving her mad.
It sounds like rushing water, similar to when the toilet cistern re-fills.
However, the noise is not coming from her toilet, nor does it make that sound when she flushes her own toilet.
The frequency is erratic, but happens many time sper day and the duration is similar to the time taken to re-fill the toilet cistern.
The neighbours claim that they have not done anything to their plumbing systems and the noises can not be heard in the house to the right of my Mum's.
She is convinced that the noise is caused by the neighbours to the left of her house flushing their toilet.
She has a mains fed direct water system with a Combi Boiler (fitted about a year ago)
Any ideas, as everyone I know is completely baffled !
Cheers.
