We have been in our house about 2 months now, and up to last week everything has been ok.
Then overnight our boiler started to "kettle" badly, so i added some sentinal x200 boiler silencer, and left it for a few days. The problem grew worse, so I took the boiler apart and found that 1 of the heat shields had fallen onto the burners!
I removed the heat shield and now thought I had the problem sorted.
Well no. It is just as bad, so today I have adde some ferinox f2 hopping a good dose of this will cure it, but now just sounds like a kettle/steam train.
Do you think that the heat ex is damaged?
What Shall I do next? drain and flush? Any help appreciated.

Its a Potterton suprima 50
