Hello,

I have just had a new boiler Vallant EcoTech Plus 831 fitted as well as a new bathroom, all is great apart from the basin taps seem very noisey. The tap is a Bristan Capri Basin mixer. The inners have been changed by the fitter as he agreed the tap is noisey. Run the bath tap and no problem but when you run the basin tap it seem very loud that i can hear it in another room. If you put tap on full flow then noise is not too bad but when its on normal running speed that is when its most noisey.

Does anybody know what could be causing this ?

thanks

Hi
The noise is most likely down to the pressure of your incoming mains. This can be sorted by the addition of a pressure reducing valve.

would normally concur ...But if it`s the only tap affected ..it`s due to the velocity through the offending tap. Try closing down the isolating valve that Should be fitted under the tap on the pipe up to it...£25 cheaper than a PRV
