I'm planning on fitting a monobloc basin mixer tap in my new bathroom, but I'm wondering of I'll need a non-return valve on the hot supply..

The cold supply is mains fed at approx 1bar, but the hot supply will be gravity fed, at approx 0.2 bar.

Do I need to fit a NRV on the hot supply to prevent the higher pressure cold water flowing back up the hot pipe?

I know there are 2 types of mixer... single flow and dual flow, and dual flow means the hot and cold don't mix, so no danger of backflow.... the problem is that the tap I want to get doesn't say what type it is.

Should i fit an NRV to be on the safe side?

Dualflow are much rarer - probably down to cost of manufacture  get that valve in ;)
